October Favorites
Each month I’ll be sharing my favorite meals, products, and experiences within Rhode Island and Massachusetts. Some of these items may include season specials, so please check with each business on availability.
Providence Bagel x LongLive Beer Works Collaboration - Swiss Bagel ‘Great North’ Sandwich
Each month, Providence Bagel has a variety of specialty bagels available. They typically offer a new one each weekend, with flavors varying from sweet to savory. This month they partnered with LongLive Beer to create some delicious savory options. I enjoyed my favorite Providence Bagel sandwich, The Great North (maple syrup, sausage, egg, and cheese) on a Swiss Bagel. It was the perfect cozy fall meal.
The Guild - Turkey Guild Cheese
I’ve visited The Guild’s Pawtucket location, but this was my first time venturing to the Warren location. This waterfront brewery is a great spot for a summer or fall relaxing day. I tried the Turkey Guild Cheese, a staple on the menu, assuming it would be a typical turkey sandwich. It came complete with amazing bacon, aioli, turkey, and lettuce with a side of fries. I was impressed with the quality of this bar food, alongside their large list of beers. I typically just go to a brewery for a quick beer, but will keep this location on my list for future dinners!
Johnson’s Roadside Farm Market - Apple Cider Donuts
After trying these donuts for myself, I had to show them off to my friends. My friend Leah called them a life altering experience and the best donuts she’s ever had. I typically find apple cider donuts to be unimpressive, a cake donut with some spices that I’ll enjoy once a season. I was amazed that an apple cider donut could be this good! Super sugary and hot off the fryer, these have a perfect crispy texture and bite. Stop by this fall - you won’t regret it!
Fully Rooted - Apple Pie Juice
I’m a big fan of all of the juices made by Fully Rooted. They make really smooth juices that lack pulp or any weird textures. Even those who are hesitant to try a green juice will find theirs to be refreshing and palatable. Their products are available at most farmer’s markets and within their own refrigerators at Wildflour (located in Pawtucket) and other local businesses. Check their website for availability.
Each fall they have a few seasonal offerings. I was tempted to try their spiced pear, but went with Apple Pie. Made with apples, beets, cucumber, ginger, lemon, and cinnamon, this juice is the perfect fall treat. If you’re a big fan of cinnamon, I highly recommend trying this juice.
@The DinnerClubRI - Puppy Cocktail Hour
Julia and Irvin, hosts and owners of The Dinner Club, held a series of puppy cocktail hours at their home this fall. The pair is known for their thoughtfully themed dinner parties, varying from holidays to seasonal selections. With their golden retrievers recently producing a liter of puppies, they decided to socialize them through these cocktail hour events.
In addition to a delicious apple cider sangria or mocktail cider, guests spent an hour outside with the puppies. It was the perfect, cozy way to spend a fall evening. The puppies, all with future homes, were adorable!
