Apple Cider Donuts Throughout the South Coast

Jaswell’s Farm apple cider donuts - available at Four Town Farm in Seekonk.

I spent my Saturday in search of my favorite fall treat; apple cider donuts. While I admit that some apple cider donuts can lack flavor and oomph, I’ve discovered donuts that are well worth the year-round wait.

I kicked off the day at the Hope Street Farmers Market, held outdoors throughout the summer and late fall. There are numerous local favorites that can be found at the market, but I chose to check out the bakeshop.

I enjoyed a chai bun, complete with all of your favorite chai spices and a sweet orange frosting glaze. The artisanal pastries are a bit pricier, but worth the investment.

Jaswell’s Farm donuts available at Four Town Farm - $7.50 (6 donuts)

It was rumored that Four Town Farm in Seekonk creates their own daily donuts. This weekend we found that they only had Jaswell’s Farm donuts for sale in 6 packs. It isn’t as satisfying as a fresh, hot donut, but I think this is a great option to bring home to enjoy.

This may have been the best donut I've EVER had.

Johnson’s Roadside Farm Market - 2 for $3

Our favorite donut of the day was served in Swansea, at this roadside market. Alongside their variety of fresh pies, pastries, and produce selections, the market creates daily hot apple cider donuts. Topped with a sweet glaze to compliment the crispy fried donut, this masterpiece somehow had the texture of a brownie and the moist bite of cake. I highly recommend checking them out, as they’re only open for the spring, summer, and fall season.
